Erica Austin - Dramatic Coloratura

Erica Austin, dramatic coloratura, is a native of the Napa Valley and has lived in San Diego since 2008. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in music from Chapman University and her Master’s degree in vocal performance from Manhattan School of Music.

 

She has been a core member of the San Diego Opera Chorus since 2011. Some of her favorite roles she has performed are The Queen of the Night from The Magic Flute, Miss Wordsworth from Albert Herring, and Musetta from La Boheme.

 

In addition to opera, she has performed such musical theater roles as Marion in The Music Man, Tuptim from The King and I, and Maria in The Sound of Music. She loves singing with her sisters, Lisa Frisque, who is a member of the SDO chorus and Gina Milne, who is a worship pastor in Colorado Springs.
