American pianist JANIE PRIM (Music Director/Pianist) is in demand for recitals and auditions throughout the West Coast, and was Chorusmistress/Rehearsal Pianist for Lyric Opera San Diego for sixteen years.  She is principal dance pianist for San Diego Opera and has served as Musical Director for the San Diego Opera Ensemble, as well as dance pianist for past SDO productions, most recently La traviata in Spring of 2017.  A versatile performer, she has worked with The Old Globe Theater (Paramour and other special programs), The San Diego Repertory Theater (Burning Dreams), Cygnet Theater (Sweeney Todd, Cabaret and Parade auditions and the pianist in the Christmas favorite, It’s a Wonderful Life), and was the musical director for ion theatre’s recent Sondheim Benefit, and Music Director/principal pianist for Chicago:A Speakeasy Cabaret and Grey Gardens, and was Music Director/Pianist for A New Brain at Diversionary Theatre. For Bodhi Tree, she has been music director/pianist for Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, Princess Ida, and The Gondoliers.  Upcoming engagements include collaborative pianist for Sharmay Musacchio in recital in 2018. In addition to her performing commitments, Ms. Prim maintains a private coaching studio, and is organist at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Poway.
