Mark Danisovszky - Accordion / Music Director
Mark Danisovszky is an accordionist with a diverse repertoire. He performs professionally for Italian, French, Jewish, Oktoberfest, Latin, Tango, Classical and Jazz concerts
and events as a soloist and in ensembles.
Mark has been the featured accordion soloist with the San Diego Symphony for 20 years performing with Itzhak Perlman, Kelli O’Hara, and as soloist for live performances of the films The Godfather, Pixar's Ratatouille In Concert, Disney's
Mary Poppins and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. With the San Diego Opera he was the onstage soloist for Wozzeck by Alban Berg and Vanessa
by Samuel Barber. He has also appeared with the La Jolla Symphony, The Atlanta Symphony, and the Hilton Head Orchestra.
As a theater musician Mark has performed extensively with the La Jolla Playhouse including Mother Courage, and onstage with Neal Patrick Harris in the James LaPine world premier production of Luck, Pluck, and Virtue. His theater career began at the San Diego Repertory with The Cradle Will Rock,
Six Women With Brain Death, Red Noses, A Long Story Short, and many productions of A Christmas Carol. Mark won the San Diego Theatre Critic’s Circle’s Craig Noel Award for Musical Direction of The Threepenny Opera. Mark recently returned from Houston’s Alley Theatre where he was the onstage
accordionist for The Servant Of Two Masters.
In addition to many performances at Lamb’s Players and Cygnet Theatre, Mark was the musical director for the San Diego premiers of the Sondheim masterpieces Sweeney Todd, Passion, and Sunday In The Park With George.
With Bodhi Tree Concerts Mark continues a long relationship after performances of Seven Deadly Sins by Brecht and Weill, Tears Of The Knife by Martinu, and other concerts and revues.
Mark is the accompanist at Temple Solel in Cardiff, and is the Musical Director of Vision Center for Spiritual Living.
